The 2009 Pike County School Prayer Walk was awesome, the best ever. With an estimated 100 people taking part in the event, we blanketed the whole school system in prayer. God started a day with a blessing by holding back the rain and giving us a sunny time. At 7 pm on Friday there was a 50% chance of rain by 7 am Saturday morning, and increasing throughout the day, but by 9 am when the Prayer Walk started there was 0% chance, God keeps His promises and kept us dry.
Many things were happening Saturday morning. We received many personal prayer requests, several people committed themselves to becoming Prayer Warriors for our intercessory prayer chain, and prayer and worship was abundant. The last participants left the campus shortly before 11 am, but hopefully the prayers will continue the whole school year.
We had students, parents, grandparents, and others who knew the importance of prayer. I personally had the opportunity to pray with my granddaughter and her parents, she will be starting in the first grade this year. This is the second time my granddaughter and I have prayed together at the Prayer Walk; I hope it becomes a family tradition.
Thanks to everyone that helped with the Prayer Walk and to all that participated.
