Thanksgiving Prayer
Lord God, all thanksgiving must begin with you. You have given us blessings beyond anything we could imagine or obtain ourselves. Your love even thou we continue to turn away, your mercy and grace even thou we are disobedient, are undeserved and in many ways unappreciated, but yet you never turn your back on us. Thank you for your son that was the greatest act of love toward mankind; let us except and live the meaning of your act. Father we are thankful for our families and friends that we can share this time with, but let us be bold in our representation of you while we go through the next few weeks. Let us set aside worldly desires for the glory of your kingdom. Forgive the actions and conditions of our lives and breath a fresh life into our the hearts and minds so we may revive your will in all that is done in our world. We remember our military that will not be with their loved ones this Thanksgiving, and we ask that you protect them, keep them safe, and bring them home quickly. Pour out your love on the entire world so we may learn to live in peace here on earth as we seek your divine deliverance. AMEN

PRAYER REQUEST AND UPDATE
If you could, please put Tommy Berg Jr. on your prayer list. His daddy, Tommy, Sr., is a salesman here in my office. This is their first baby and, as you will read, he has been diagnosed, pre-birth, with Dandy Walker syndrome which causes all kinds of other issues. Thanks, Debbie Willis
I wanted to write you all and let you know how Tommy Jr. is doing and to say thank you for all of your prayers. Friday we had 2 appointments the first appointment was with our high risk Dr. who checks on how Tommy is growing and keeps an eye on the Dandy Walker. We did the ultra sound and got some really good pictures of him. the Dr. had to run to the hospital so he couldn't talk to us after the ultra sound so they told us if he finds anything he will call us. Off to the next appointment this appointment was with the cardiologist if you remember from one of the emails I sent before we thought Tommy might have a hole in his heart. So the Dr. went through all of Tommy's chambers and gave the heart a really good look and there was no holes and he said he has a great heart. Man Holli and I are so happy finally some good news I was on top of the world. The day went on and Holli and I are both so happy our baby weighs 3.5 lbs and has a healthy heart. Well that didn't last long, just before the end of the day on Friday we get a call from the first Dr. he said that Tommy's head is growing to fast it is 3 weeks ahead of his body, and what this means is the fluid is building up and hydro seffiless is in the near future. Tommy's original due date is Feb. 4th but now it looks like we are going to have to get him out around Jan. 1 a little more than a month early. Most likely they are going to have to do another amnio on Holli to make sure Tommy's lungs are mature enough and that he will be able to breath when they get him out. After birth the plan is most likely going to be Tommy and I getting on a ambulance and heading for Atlanta to get the shunt put in his brain to release the pressure. Our recovery time is looking to be about a month in the hospital if everything goes right, so I will be commuting from the hospital. Sorry for such a grim email on such a wonderful week but I just wanted to let each of you know what's going on. Thank you all for all of your support I couldn't have better co-workers or friends to help us through. Please continue to pray for Tommy Jr. and Holli to keep them safe and healthy through all of this. Thanks again for everything.Tommy Berg, Sr.

THE PATH WE FOLLOW.
Matthew 7 :13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. KJV
Has God hidden the path we are to follow to the gate that leads us to eternal life? Is it so difficult to find the way to the gate that most people can not find it? Is the gate so restricting that most people can not fit through the gate? Is God dangling a carrot in front of us that He knows we will never reach?
No to all! God has not made the way to eternal life hard to find, nor has He made it difficult to pass from darkness through the gate into the light. God knows human nature and knows how we behave. God is not enticing us to do something that is impossible, but it is difficult for people to know and understand what God wants from us. Many people will be following the path they believe to be a righteous way to salvation and eternal life, only to find that the manmade road signs along the way have mislead them. God has given us very explicit instructions, He has told us where the path is that leads to the gate, He has given us the means by which to light the path, He has given us the key to the gate, and He has given us the means to handle the bumps and detours we experience along the way. What God has given us is the Bible. Read, study, and commit yourself to following God’s word and you will be on the right path and will easily enter the gate leading to eternal life.

SURRENDER YOUR WILL TO HIS WILL.
Matthew 18: 19 & 20:
Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
I have heard many people quote this verse ensuring others or themselves that we can ask for anything and God will grant what ever it is. Unfortunately that is not true, and this is why many people have what they think is unanswered prayers. God put a condition on prayer, it must be done in His name and it will be granted in His will. The in His will part is what most people over look. Jesus gave us the Lord’s Prayer as our model by which to pray. We can not gang up on God and make Him change His mind; He knew what was going to happen at the being of time. Miracles are those things we can not explain, but to God, miracles are things He already had planned because He knew what we wanted and needed. Miracles are because we are obedient and faithful to God and surrender our will to His will. Don’t think that no matter what, God will do what you want when you want it, remember God will always do the right thing at the right time for His kingdom.

PRAISE GOD!
Praise God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He is aware of every facet of our lives. Nothing happens without His knowledge. Not even a sparrow falls to the ground that He doesn't know about it (Matt. 10:29)
I just want to Praise Him and thank you all for your thoughts and prayers raised up for Amanda & baby. There on the ultrasound they saw a strong heartbeat of that precious little life, only 7 weeks and 4 days old. The Dr. put Amanda on pelvic rest (no lifting, standing for long periods or walking a lot) for a least 3 or 4 days. They said it is common for bleeding and cramping to happen, not miscarry and not ever find out the cause. They will get the results of blood soon and that may shed some light on a cause.
Thanks again and may God richly bless you for your prayers.
Love in Christ,
Cathy Terry

Please pray earnestly for a job for my oldest son. He has been unemployed since March and is getting very discouraged. Please help me pray and claim God's promise in John 15: 7 which reads: "If you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish and it will be done for you."
Thank you,

Please pray again for Amanda and baby, she started cramping and bleeding last night. The Dr said she wants them to come in first thing this morning. Pray for God's will, healing and protection for them. Please don't call, I'll update you all later. They don't want everyone knowing, but prayer is powerful and we should always go to God first with all our needs.
Thank you!!

PRAYER FOR HEALING
Dear Friends and family:
At what age does someone stop praying for the healing of another? I don’t think I’ve ever heard the answer. We are told to love one another, and I think that the act of loving another is more of a healing salve than can be prescribed by any physician.
I have been close to a number of friends and family who have passed on. I did see and understand something that was decidedly different about them. Some were fearful, afraid to shut their eyes in the waning time they had left, for fear of what tragedy might be set them. Some were friends who placed no faith in God or salvation. One man I worked with years ago told me, while he was healthy and not in any fear of his life, that if there was a God ok, but he owed him nothing and lived just fine without him. He died suddenly on the operating table while undergoing exploratory surgery. I so remember his funeral. It was short and abrupt. There was no peace or happiness in that place that day. Neither he nor his family sought God.
Another friend, remarkably at the same company, suffered with cancer for about a year and a half. His name was Bob. Bob was a humble man and what set him apart was his tremendous faith in God. We talked for hours about the cancer, but mostly we talked about God and what Jesus Christ meant to him and to his family. Bob was a born again believer. He came in to work daily, although the pain must have been excruciating. When finally he passed on, is was a quiet and peaceful time. His funeral was one of hope and love as we all knew that Bob had gone to be with the Lord, and we would see him again one day.
A Pastor commented once that when a baby is being born, going through all the pressures of contractions, it most likely would think that it was dying. After all, the baby never knew anything else besides its mother’s womb. But then there is a bright and shining light as the doctor helps deliver the baby in to the world. Born to a new experience, alive and full of hope. Is that what dying is like? Are we born in to a new life, as promised by God’s Word? If so, then why should we worry?
There is a time when each of us will face that time in our lives when either ourselves or someone close will pass on over. If we have experienced that joyful time of accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior it will be a time of rejoicing. There came a time in my own life when my father was extremely ill. His time left with us were measured by hours and then by minutes. I sought wisdom on how to pray. A peace came over me as the answer made itself known. I know today that my parents are both enjoying heavenly places and that someday I too shall see them again.
Please be in prayer for our friends and relatives as we all face uncertain times. Christ is our victor and in Him our faith is well placed. Please remember my cousin Claire Larson and her husband Roger.
In Christ,
David Hedlum

A THOUGHT
Philippians 2:3. Don’t be selfish; don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself.
4. Don’t think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing. NLT
Paul is giving us the foundation of a humble mind. As we go through life we have two ways to present ourselves to the world; one, we can be constantly lifting ourselves up for recognition and fame, two, we can lift up those around us even for the simplest things. The best way I have found to bring my mind into a humble state is to pray for those I see daily going about God’s work without fanfare. Looking for and recognizing God’s children will give you reflection on your own actions. We have become a society of self involved individualist who seek worldly things, but we never seem to understand that the only things you can have in this world and take with us to the next is character, honesty, integrity, and love of God and each other. It is hard as human beings to put others ahead of ourselves, but it is the most rewarding thing you can do.

Prayer request
Many people are suffering with financial situations that threaten to destroy their marriages, their lives, and possibly their future. We lift up each and every person and family in economic turmoil and ask God to guide them through their struggle. Some times God puts us in the middle of a battle to strengthen us, some times to teach us, always to bless us in some way. Heavenly Father, give all those in need of financial and marital stability your love, mercy, and grace so they may recover stronger and more faithful than before.

UPDATE - PRAISE
Update:
Thank you all for your prayers, the ultrasound found the tiny little life in the uterus with heart beating and could not find the lump the Dr had felt a few days earlier. Praise God!!!! Amanda is 6 weeks 5day into this pregnancy and is experiencing strong morning sickness that lasts all day long. With the last 3 pregnancies this period lasted 3 months. The only thing different is she has not vomited at all. We hope she will be able to gain some extra this way. At 5'7" and 98lbs, she and baby could use it. Thank you again for your prayers today and your continued prayers as this little life grows.
In Christ's Love,

I would really appreciate your prayers this morning, Amanda and Ryan are expecting again. She is about 6 weeks, during the exam Tuesday11/10, the Dr. found a lump near her left ovary and said it could be many different things. Dr. didn't seem overly concerned and would do an ultrasound in the 1st week of Dec. Yesterday Amanda realized she didn't think to tell them she has some nerve damage on the left side and can't feel pain, just pressure. She called the Dr.s office and they want to do the ultrasound this morning first thing. It could be a tubal pregnancy.
Please Pray for God's healing power and will to be done.

A VETERANS DAY PRAYER
Merciful And loving God, descend on this celebration today that we may experience your perfect guidance and direction for our lives as we petition your protection for your children engaged in conflict. Give us pause as we honor those men and women who have gone before us and those who are currently protecting our nation. Let us remember those who gave up their tomorrows so that we may have today. Help us to place the highest value on our freedoms and that we shall maintain and defend our freedoms here at home. Blessed God, we lift up all we do here today as a tribute to our veterans and as glory to your kingdom.
Heavenly Father, we gather today to honor and glorify your kingdom and thank you for the blessings you have generously and abundantly bestowed on our country. We present ourselves to ask for your continued protection for our daughters, sons, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, husbands, and friends that are currently in uniform and especially those in harm’s way. Lord God, receive into your presence those who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and we ask that you comfort and sustain their families.
Father let us be as Job, let us not lose sight of the glory and power of your kingdom and no matter how bleak or disheartening the situation may be let us remember that you Lord God are in control and have us in your will. Embolden us to keep the faith in your promises and in our strength through you in prayer to protect our military.
Father God, endow our leaders with divine wisdom to guide and direct our country and our service people so they might remain in your will and endeavor to serve your kingdom while protecting your people and following your Great Commission.
Heavenly Father, you will be victorious, so shepherd us dear God so we will reflect your image even as we are engaged in conflict. Let us remember that all we do is to be done in your greatest commandment, to love one another.
Father, give our military and all veterans peace, protection, comfort, and the honor they are due for their unselfish service.
As it is in Your word,
Psalms 144: 1-2 Bless the Lord, who is my rock. He gives me strength for war and skill for battle. 2 He is my loving ally and my fortress, my tower of safety, my deliverer. He stands before me as a shield, and I take refuge in him. He subdues the nations under me.
As King David knew that God gave him strength and skills for battle, we claim the same for our military.
Dear Lord as we leave here today emblazon on our hearts with the veterans so we will daily remember them in prayer, and exalt their deeds.
All these things we pray in the name of Your son, the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. AMEN.

AMEN.
Prayer request
Please pray for my step-mother Betty. She went to Griffin Hospital on Saturday because of breathing problems and swelling of her legs and feet. Late yesterday evening the doctors let us know that she has fluid around her heart and lungs. The doctors are going to try and get her into surgery today. Please just keep her in your prayer.

A THOUGHT
Proverbs 19:23 KJV
The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
We are not guaranteed happiness, wealth, or fame in this life, we are only promised satisfaction. Our needs will be satisfied if we look to God and keep in His will and reflect His image. If we keep His commandments and focus on Him we have no fear of evil entering our lives. No, not at all easy, but God expects diligent and faithful obedience not perfection.

A NEW SCHOOL PRAYER
Jesus said,
'If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.'
NEW School prayer: Written by a 15 yr. old School Kid in Ohio:
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation
'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.. We have killed our unborn and called it choice. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem. We have abused power and called it politics.. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!'
Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program.

Please continue to pray for my step-mother, Betty Crosby McGee. She was in the hospital about a week ago with swelling in her legs and feet. She is extremely weak, from the chemo treatments, and also from not wanting to eat, because of the nausea. She is having difficulty breathing today. Please lift her up to our Lord that he will heal her.

PRAISE
God is at work!
Yesterday the call for prayer went out for Natalia Harmsen as she was on her way to the hospital with several complications with her pregnancy. By 2:00 in the afternoon the doctors could not find any problems. Although Natalia was kept overnight just to be safe, both baby and mother are doing well and the baby should be here some time around the first of the year.
Thank you for your prayers, they truly made a difference.

Father God we are stunned by the events at Ft. Hood and seek to put these types of things in prospective in our lives. The loss of life in what seems to us a senseless act is completely beyond our ability to understand. In times like this we can only turn to you God for comfort and peace for all those involved. We pray for healing in the families that have lost loved ones and for those that were injured. Pour your mercy and love down on Ft. Hood and all affected by this tragedy.
“if my people,...
II Chronicles 7:14 NIV
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
On Tuesday two states voted on the status of marriage in their state. In both states the traditional definition of marriage was upheld and confirmed as the chose of the people. Healing can begin in small ways, it often goes unnoticed, but let us not disregard the importance of what we can do to effect a change. We must take ourselves out of the picture and put God in His rightful place in our lives. We must accept God as our Lord in all things and earnestly seek His will for not only our lives, but that of our country. We must confess, repent, and pray for forgiveness with an open heart truly seeking God’s healing, no matter what that brings.
Turn your back on sin, seek God’s will, and put God in charge, then will we see revival and healing in our great nation.

A time of Prayer
On Sunday evening we attended a “CALL TO PRAYER” at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin. The program was one of the best we have seen done by a church. The time contained a defined method and purpose for prayer as well as the reading of scriptures, and enter mixed was corporate prayer and moments of silent prayer. Proceeding the prayer time, twenty two men took fifteen minute intervals to read scripture and to pray for the program, the people who would attend, and for the church. The majority of the church was in attendance, along with God.
HONOR OUR VETERANS
On November 11 our nation honors our veterans. Please take time to pray for all our military personnel and especially those who are in harm’s way. Most communities have at least one program to recognize the veterans and thank them for their sacrifices; please attend one and show your support for the men and women in uniform. Please remember all veterans and service people in prayer always. If you know some one in service you may list their names at http://www.prayerpower4u.net/ and they will receive prayer.

Please pray for my sister-in-law. She has been in and out of the hospital for the past two weeks. The doctors seem to be focusing on her pancreas. They ran C.T. scans today and did lots of blood work after re admitting her to the hospital. She is in lots of pain. Lift her up that they will pin point what the problem is and cure it. Thank you. Prayer warriors, please continue to pray for Betty White, my mother-in-law. Her heart stress test results were OK, but the doctor wants to do a heart catherization since the nitroglycerin tablets relieve the pain from her shoulders down her arms and her pain medication does not. He is checking for blockage. She will have this done Tuesday morning, scheduled at 7:00 a.m. as outpatient at Spalding Regional Hospital. Pray for God’s wisdom for the doctor and nurses, comfort and peace for “my mom,” and healing if it be God’s will.
Thank you for your intercessions.
