"Please pray for Karen Stanfield because she is in a lot of pain. She teaches with me. Here is her request:
There is a disk in my lower back that has slipped completely out. It is on the nerve. I am having trouble urinating and the pain is shooting down my leg. The pain is unbelievable. I am unable to walk without severe pain. My left leg has gone numb and at this point I am just dragging it. I am in severe pain, and, at this point, I cannot walk because the pain is so bad. Please pray. I have an appointment on Tuesday, I am not sure how I will make it until then. Pray that he will be able to operate immediately."

"Pray for Deputy Joe Buice and his family after he was shot in the head while on Duty trying to keep another man from committing suicide. Then pray for the innocent woman driving down the road who got shot by the same guy. And also pray for the family of the man who did the shooting for you know they are hurting because they lost their love one also. Keep all these people in your prayers and their families."

PRAYER REQUEST

Abby Betts is a ten year old girl who is experiencing what the doctors believe to be gall bladder problems. Abby has been released from the hospital with a feeding tube and the understanding if her condition doesn't improve in a few days, the doctors will have to remove her gall bladder.
Please pray that Abby's condition improves and she will have no need for the feeding tube or any future procedures.

PRAYER UPDATE

Thank you for your prayers. Valentina Maxedon has regained use of her left side after the stroke Sunday. She has been released from the hospital. Continue to remember her in your prayers as she is still fighting cancer.

Pray for God’s divine intervention in the affairs of man that our leaders and people may know and follow God’s will. Peace and security come from God not man. No matter what man does he can not give us the safety we can receive from God if we look to Him for our daily needs. Life will not always be happy or without pain, but the security of life is promised by God, for eternity, for those that accept His son.

Please pray for my son. He has been unemployed for 10 months and is NOT drawing unemployment. His father and I are helping him pay his bills, and this is putting a huge financial strain on us. My son is getting VERY discouraged, and quite frankly, so am I. I have tried to claim Mark 11:24 which says "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."
I have also pleaded and begged and cried out to God. I don't know what else to do. Seeing my son hurting is affecting my ability to do my job. Please - please - please - please - pray that God will encourage my son, and send him a good job with a reputable company.

We all know that these are hard times in many ways for many people. Prayer Power has been approached by people seeking assistance and will always do what we can, unfortunately, we do not have the resources to assist people the way they really need when it comes to financial concerns. I am asking the Face Book family to please assist by passing along any information you may have regarding assistance. Please forward to us the names and numbers of agencies where a family may go to get assistance with rent, food, heat, electric, doctors and medicine, as well as anything else that maybe helpful. Pray for the family of Jacob Bullock. He was one of the teens who drowned in Gwinnett over the weekend. Kelly coached Jacob's sister and said she was on of the best girls she had ever coached and is playing college softball now. The father is a minister and both parents are very involved in the lives of their kids. Kelly was on the way over to spend some time with the family when she called Amy and I told her we would pray for Kelly as she ministers to this family. Another guy also drowned so please remember that family, too.

Jennifer and Paul Davidson welcomed their twins into the world quite unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, January 3, 2010. James Brodie, all 2 pounds 7 ounces of him, literally kicked his way out, therefore causing an immediate delivery of himself and little sister, Abigail Grace, who weighed all of 2 pounds 5 ounces. They are 14 inches long. The babies were not expected before mid-March.
Jennifer and Paul are trying to get their arms around this situation . . . and get some rest. The babies are doing as well as can be expected. They are in the Columbus Medical Center NICU receiving excellent care.

PRAYER REQUEST

Chris Nichelson, a member of Oak Hill, is having surgery on monday January 11, to remove both kidneys. Our church is having a special prayer service on Saturday January 9 at 4:30 to lift up Chris, his family and the doctors.
Also, My daughter Amber went to the doctor this past Tuesday and she has another sinus infection all of this is on the right side, and when the doctor tried to see her ear drum he said that it was more difficult to see. He told me that it would be best to take her back to Emory so this Wednesday January 13 we go back. I thank God that there was an opening this soon. Please pray that this doctor will do the surgery to remove the mass and complete the reconstruction of her ear canal.

NEW YEARS THOUGHT.

We celebrated the birth of Christ and we have brought to a close 2009 and opened a new year and a new decade. We have lost some loved ones, we have found new loved ones, some relationships were weakened and some were renewed or strengthened, but as it is eternally, life goes on. Life is a continuously changing interaction with people and our environment; how we adapt and manage those interactions will determine our acceptance by society. The real question is how much are you willing to sacrifice to be accepted?
In the New Year our prayer is that each one seeks God’s will in all aspects of their life, not man’s approval. Christ left us with a mission, at the point you accepted Christ as your Load and Savior you also accepted to undertake that mission. Each of us may find our path leading us to address the mission in different ways, but the process and ultimate outcome is the same. We are to share Jesus Christ with the world; not to those you meet in church, although many may need it, but to everyone in words and deeds.
Let every Christian stand for Christ daily without shame, boldly reflect Christ’s nature in your actions, and lovingly display Christ’s character in all relationships. Make this your new year’s resolution and your lifelong commitment.
