PRAISE
Praise the Lord !
Karen O'Chipa, daughter of Bill Frank, got a good report today. The doctor said that the lump on her neck is an indicator of the type of cancer that is still in her body. (This cancer first appeared 10 years ago). They will monitor the lump for 6 weeks and then re-evaluate. However, it is NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT RIGHT NOW !! The doctor said Karen had a greater chance of dying in a car accident than from the cancer at this time !
Continue to lift Karen up in your prayers that the lump will be GONE in 6 weeks !!!!
GOD IS GOOD !!!

Please be in prayer for Karen O'Chipa. (see email below) She is the daughter of Bill Frank in Zebulon. God healed her 10 years ago, and HE CAN DO IT AGAIN !!!
Ruth B. Davis
Please add Bill's daughter, Karen to the prayer list.
She called tonight and said that she had a place come up on her neck that she thought was just a cyst. After having a biopsy done on it, it came back as "suspicious for metastatic lobular carcinoma" which is the same kind she was diagnosed with 10 years ago.
We are trying to get it set up so that she can return to Houston and start out under the care of Dr. Rivera, who treated her for the cancer before at MD Anderson Hospital. He is now with the Methodist Hospital Research Institute.
We are in Hot Springs, Arkansas now and will probably be working our way to Houston to meet her. She has an appointment next Tuesday morning with Dr. Rivera.
I'll let you know more after she see's the doctor.

Update - continued prayer needed.
Chad is in a lot of pain. He had a restless night. They pumped him with morphine to ease the pain. Sherry stayed with him at Grady in the burn unit. Doctors spoke with Sherry and told her they want him to get home as soon as possible. Home is better than a hospital. Things could have been much worse. Chad was wanting to go on a helicopter ride for his birthday next month, but this sure wasn't the way we wanted to do it. Grady is the best burn unit in the SE. If he had not gone there they would have had to fly him to Augusta. So we are thankful to be at Grady of all places.
Continue to pray.

Minor 2nd degree burns on face. But both arms have much worse from fingers all the way to shoulders. We will know more tomorrow. Sherry is staying with Chad at Grady. Continue to pray!

The Great Commission is so much more.
Matthew 28 KJV
18. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20. teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The subject verse we recognize as the Great Commission. In our quest for revival many use this as the evangelistic and salvation verse, but it is literally much more. This verse not only sends us out to spread the seeds of salvation, but it also directs us “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you”.
So our commission is not just to evangelize and spread the gospel, but to bring the whole magnitude of God’s greatness and glory to the entire world. Our commission is to “go” and spread God’s commandments, ordinances, and His precepts. This is not a suggestion for us to follow if, when, and how we want, this is an edict by Christ himself, set down that we finish the work He left behind. He did not leave His work undone by accident or because He ran out of time, no, He left it for us to follow in His way so we can strive to develop ourselves into His perfect image. Knowing we will never gain the perfection of Christ we must accept our commission as a life long duty and commitment.
If you embrace all of the Great Commission as Christ delivered it, it will change your life and God will be “with you, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Prayer request
Please be in prayer for my aunt, Verla Pickell. She is 89 years old and has Parkinsons disease, macular degeneration, high & low blood pressure bouts, and irregular heartbeat. In addition, she recently fractured her right foot, became dehydrated and was in the hospital for a week. During that time, the hospital made a mistake in some of her prescription medicines and gave her too many stool softeners, all of which set her back tremendously. In addition to all these problems, lying in bed for a week, unable to walk, made her very weak and helpless. Persons with Parkinsons have to maintain mobility or their joints will become rigid. Her mind has been very clear up until all of this happened, so now she is confused also.
Please be in prayer for her. I can see some improvement since she is back at the assisted living facility and receiving physical therapy, but she is getting discouraged.

This is pastor appreciation week and we really need to pray for our pastors and leaders of our churches and let them know we are praying for them. Pastors have a very heavy weight on them from all directions 24/7. Please pray that they would have a Christ-like heart as well as their church-members.
Please also pray that when these prayer requests come across our desk-top that we really pray for them! David I just prayed for you oh how I feel as you do so much of the time!

I sit alone in my room quietly listening to Christian music play softy from my computer system speakers. Nearer My God plays softly and my soul climbs quietly into the awaiting arms of Christ my Savior. I find a comfort there, a place to rest from the world and its demands for activity and action. My body is sore, my spirit low. Yet outside, the sun shines brightly casting its beams of light across the landscape and lighting off plums of color in each bush, tree and flower it touches. Even with such beauty surround me, yet I still feel empty, exhausted and spent.
I know you are there Lord, but at this particular moment I feel so alone and helpless. The music plays on and I hear the great old song, “How Great Thou Art” and I know in my heart that you are there. Would you please be more direct for me this morning? My life is such a little thing when I think of all the people you have created and the universe at large. Why give me a second thought? Yet I know you do, as I remember the closeness of times long past. When I was out of work in Oklahoma, you were there giving me comfort and hope. You allowed me to share our experiences and witness with other families, bring them hope and peace.
In Brazil you were with me each time and so close. I watched you perform miracles and was a part of some of those miracles. I watched and listened and heard you words, felt your presence and knew you were there with me in the company of real brothers and sisters in Christ. I felt like shouting and singing praises to you.
Lord, you are my family, my father and Christ my brother as well as the Holy Spirit who enlightens my way, but today Lord I feel so empty. Won’t you please hear my cry?

IS YOUR FAITH LIKE AN ICEBERG?
An Iceberg spends its entire existence flooding around aimlessly in the ocean with only about ten percent of its mass showing above the surface. We all have heard disastrous tales of icebergs sinking ships that got too close causing hundreds of lives to parish.
Icebergs do not live a long and productive life, quit the opposite. Icebergs break away from the formation that gave them existence and begin moving independently on a random journey. After a time the iceberg floats in a southerly direction with no identifiable destination. As the water warms, the Iceberg begins to loss its mass and even what is visible above the surface becomes smaller and smaller until it is no longer something that is significant. Now ignored and shrinking the Iceberg continues on its journey forgotten and irrelevant.
One day the iceberg will disappear and its mass will have mingled with all the rest of the water in the ocean so we can not distinguish any difference.
Are you allowing your faith to dwindle and shrink until it is no longer identifiable? Will you just mirage into the massive ocean of people that are just there without a purpose or direction?
Show people more than ten percent of who you are and your faith. The ninety percent below the surface is the most important, yes it is the scariest, but if we bring it to the surface and share it with those traveling past it will not only grow but help others afloat on the ocean of life. If we connect with all those other icebergs afloat, just maybe we can establish an island for others to connect with, also.
Don’t let your faith be an iceberg, merging into the world and becoming irrelevant.

Prayer is needed for the "CHURCH". We are suffering daily setbacks to our freedoms and rights as Christians. Throughout the world, and what seems especially threatening here at home, Christianity is losing its purpose and direction. Please pray that we revive the Great Commission and restore our country to God's will.

UPDATE
Shannon Pope saw the cardiologist Tuesday. The doctor does not think there is anything seriously wrong, but has scheduled a stress test and ultrasound for next week. The doctors best guess at this time is something external is causing the problem, i.e.; caffeine, stress, etc.
Please keep Shannon in your prayers while she is going through this time of uncertainty.
